Jayne Hunter

Jayne Hunter is a North Carolina Board Certified Trademark Specialist, one of only 22 other attorneys in the state and only 3 in the Charlotte area. To become a Board Certified Specialist, an attorney must be an active member of the North Carolina State Bar for at least five years, devote at least 25% of her practice in the speciality, attend continuing legal education in the speciality, be favorably evaluated by other lawyers and judges and pass a written examination in the specialty practice area.

A former trademark examining attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Jayne has over 20 years experience practicing trademark, copyright and technology contracting law. In that time, she has worked in a variety of different positions, providing her with experience in a wide range of issues in very different situations. Her experience ranges from single registrations for individuals to managing trademark portfolios of over 4000 trademarks. Her expertise in trademark registration matters is key to her success in providing the best advice on trademark adoption and registration.

She expanded her practice to software and technology contracting in her in-house positions with Bank of America and Royal & SunAlliance Insurance, handling technology contracts large and small, as well as a wealth of other corporate issues that touch intellectual property and technology.

Her work at some of the most well respected law firms in the Charlotte area expanded her expertise still further, providing her with the opportunity to ensure quality due diligence review for large transactions and lending deals while continuing to handle a variety of trademark and copyright issues for clients of all sizes.

Jayne is also an experienced speaker, and has held several adjunct teaching positions, teaching business law classes at the McColl School of Business of Queens University of Charlotte, at Western Carolina University, and at Mars Hill College. Most recently, she has taught as a paralegal instructor for the Duke University Paralegal Certificate program. Jayne is available to speak at business meetings and at arts and creative groups.
